Director

Jim’s journey into the world of property and surveying began at the tender age of 17 working in Local Authority Building Control. During this time, he achieved his degree in Building Surveying alongside vast experience of property and construction across Wigan and surrounding areas. He ventured into private practice in 2017 expanding his knowledge, expertise and network where he was awarded chartership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Institution of Fire Engineers. Jim uses his knowledge of construction to design practical and affordable spaces people can love.

When he’s not turning houses into homes or making buildings safe and accessible for all, you’ll finding him cycling the Lancashire terrain or coaching his beloved rugby league!

Practice Manager

Originally an English teacher, Katie was drawn to the world of property through private development projects. Inspired by Jim’s career opportunities, she gained experience in estate agency and residential surveying before qualifying and receiving Associate RICS status in 2021. A traditionalist at heart, she loves historic, period properties because they always have a story to tell! She understands that our homes are the central point of family life and so her focus is on providing the personal touch and going the extra mile; something which was recognised in her shortlisting for the RICS Young Surveyor of the Year Award 2022.

When she’s not up a ladder or running FJB HQ, you can catch her walking their whippet in Wigan’s glorious green spaces.

Our building regulations specialism means we have consistent working knowledge of turning a drawing on paper into bricks and mortar. Because of this, we design out as many foreseeable issues and unnecessary expense as we can. And, should any concerns or issues arise during the build stage, we can be on hand to help problem solve and work cooperatively with other involved parties.
